"How to make the best out of your application
At Bain, we put together the best minds to drive to the best solutions for our clients. We are therefore looking out for motivated and intelligent team players to join us in this mission.
To this end, we assess our candidates through rounds of case interviews.
What is a case interview
During a case interview, you will be given a business problem to crack (very much similar to the ones we solve in our daily work at Bain). As part of the case interview, you will have to:
Define the problem
Structure the approach for solving the problem
Gather data and conduct analysis
Synthesize your findings and make a recommendation
How to best prepare for a case interview
To ace the case interview, it is highly recommended that candidates spend ample time preparing beforehand. It would be beneficial for you to familiarize yourself with how a case interview is conducted – practice makes perfect!
There are plenty of resources online that you could leverage as you prepare for your case interview. Some examples we’ve heard from our candidates use are:
JoinBain.com’s interview preparation materials
Case interview books published by business schools (e.g. Harvard, Kellogg)
PrepLounge
Case Interview Secrets by Victor Cheng
Case In Point by Marc Consentino
The Consulting Bible by Management Consulted
Further, one good way to prepare for case interviews is to actually practise live with a friend, so do link up with friends who are also keen on joining the consulting industry!"
